Wildfires Burning In Ukraine’s Zhytomyr Region West Of Ukrainian Capital

Drone video shot on April 18 showed wildfires burning in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr ecosystems region about 150 km west of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said that three airplanes and 600 firefighters battled about 15 blazes. Smoke from the wildfires has contributed to air pollution in the Ukrainian capital. As of April 20, Avakov said via Twitter that most of the fires were extinguished but that four blazes were were still burning.
