Injustice in Palestine is a threat to justice everywhere.
As we enter into the eighth decade of the ongoing Nakba —the Palestinian ethnic cleansing that began in 1948, forcing the majority of the Palestinain population into exile, annexing an ever-increasing amount of Palestinian land, and incarcerating an expanding amount of the remaining Palestinian population — it has never been harder to imagine a liberated Palestine. The global shift toward the far right has darkened the prospects further.
In this PI Forum, scholars and Al-Shabaka analysts Randa Wahbe and Yara Hawari will argue that Palestine is not an exceptional case — but an integral part of the international struggle for a just world. The Forum will explore how colonialism, patriarchy and capitalism intertwine to oppress the Palestinian population and communities around the world. The Israeli regime, therefore, must be situated in this global context — calling on all parts of the Progressive International to join the fight.
