Often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara”, Vieux Farka Touré was born in Niafunké, Mali in 1981. He is the son of legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Touré. Vieux has released six solo studio albums and performed on six continents. Career highlights include concerts at Carnegie Hall, Shanghai Symphony Hall, the 2010 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony, and The Glastonbury Festival. He has recorded with artists ranging from Dave Matthews, Toumani Diabaté, Derek Trucks, and Idan Rachel.
