On today’s episode, Nicholas Baham II (Dr. Dreadlocks), Janice Domingo, and Nolan Higdon discuss California’s Prop 22 which seeks to reclassify the employees of Uber, Lyft, and similar companies to independent contractors. Then they discuss conflict management with contemplative conflict coach Dr. Gail Young.

His book, The Coltrane Church: Apostles of Sound, Agentsof Social Justice was published in 2015 by McFarland Press. Dr. Nolan Higdon is an author and university lecturer of history and media studies. Higdon’s areas of concentration include youth culture, news media history, and critical media literacy. He sits on the boards of the Action Coalition for Media Education(ACME) and Northwest Alliance For Alternative Media And Education. His most recent publications include United States of Distraction (co-author with Mickey Huff, City Lights, 2019) and The Anatomy of Fake News: A CriticalNews Literacy Education (University of California Press, 2020). Janice Domingo is a co-host and sound engineer for ATL. She has a background in the pharmaceutical industry with certification in bioscience, BA in Mass Communication with an emphasis in media production from California State University East Bay and is a MA candidate at San Francisco State University.
