In the lush mountains of Northern Turkey a centuries old language and tradition has been passed on from generation to generation; speaking the ‘Bird Language.’ But as modern technology, particularly mobile phones, has proliferated, the language has come under threat. UNESCO declared the Bird Language as an intangible piece of cultural heritage and there are some who are working to keep this part of their culture alive.
