Statement of the Vermont AFL-CIO On The Minneapolis General Strike

The Vermont AFL-CIO stands in unwavering solidarity with the Minnesota AFL-CIO and working people across Minnesota who are courageously standing up to ICE’s reckless and harmful actions. Militarized immigration enforcement is tearing families apart, targeting workers of color, and making communities less safe. The labor movement is built on solidarity, and these attacks on immigrant workers are attacks on the entire labor movement. Vermont union members stand shoulder to shoulder with Minnesotans in rejecting fear and defending the fundamental rights of all workers to live, work, and raise their families with dignity and safety. We encourage all workers in Vermont to wear blue tomorrow in solidarity with the Minnesota labor movement and to urge Congress to hold ICE accountable.
