Several Facebook users have now posted an 80-second video of a brawl between three men. “#FranceNews Two Frenchmen attacked a Muslim man in France, thinking that since he is by himself he wouldn’t be able to do anything. But watch how the Muslim thrashed them. Now they know, in the name of Islam and Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alehi Wasallam, that a Muslim only needs a spark #Boycott_French_Products.” — reads the accompanying caption.

Video of a brawl in Brazil
Alt News performed a reverse image search using InVID’s video verification browser plugin and found an October 23 report by Brazillian newspaper Estado De Minas. The report includes a screenshot from the viral video.
As per the report, the incident took place on October 12 in Ouro Branco, Minas Gerais. A motorcycle courier was threatened by two men inside a restaurant.
Next, we performed a keyword search in Portuguese ‘Ouro Branco, em Minas Gerais luta’ (translates to Ouro Branco, Minas Gerais fight) and found multiple reports about the incident. G1 Globo reported that Rafael Junior da Costa Vieira, popularly known as ‘Jackie Chan’ was detained on October 12. Another report by G1 Globo stated that Vieira was one of the men beaten by the courier. He was arrested on the suspicion of attempted murder because he pulled a revolver during the fight.
A four-minute clip of the incident was uploaded by Brazil-based news portal UOL on October 28. From 0:48 to 1:48 we can see Vieira holding the gun and point it toward a man.
The viral video was uploaded by O Tempo, Minas-based YouTube channel with the title, ‘Jackie Chan’ from Minas Gerais causes night of confusion in Ouro Branco and is arrested in the act.
Therefore, a video of a brawl in Brazil was shared on social with the false claim that two men in France attacked a Muslim man who in turn thrashed them in self-defence.
