A video of BJP MP Kangana Ranaut talking to the media is being widely shared in which she is seen taking a dig at the Election Commission while talking about Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of ‘vote theft’.
In the video, she states: “As you can see, the way the Election Commission insulted people… insulted voters… and the voters whose names were mentioned are now expressing their displeasure.. They have been insulted in their societies. Rahul Gandhi has destroyed their reputations. You can see the drama that he created here today even after being reprimanded so much yesterday. What this means is that if they do not get the throne, they will not let any work get done.”
An X user posted the video and wrote, “Kangana Ranaut also got angry at the Election Commission over vote theft. Is Kangana going to leave the BJP now?” At the time of this article being written, the video has garnered more than 1,300 views. (Archived link)

Fact Check
Alt News performed a keyword search on YouTube to fact-check the video. This led us to a video posted by ABP Ganga on August 18, 2025. In this report, Kangana Ranaut is wearing the same clothes as in the viral video. When we examined this video carefully, we discovered that what the actress said was in reference to Rahul Gandhi. Kangana Ranaut had actually said: “As you can see, the Election Commission has criticized Rahul Gandhi yesterday for the way he insulted people.. insulted voters… and the voters whose names were mentioned are now expressing their displeasure…”
In other words, a portion of the clip in which Ranaut states “how much Rahul Gandhi has been reprimanded” has been removed from the statement, in order to make it appear as though the BJP MP took a dig at the Election Commission. Whereas in reality, she had targeted Rahul Gandhi.
