The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) offered recommendations for journalists preparing to cover the 2026 FIFA World Cup during a June 4 webinar hosted by NAHJ‘s palabra. The discussion featured José Zamora, CPJ’s regional director for the Americas, and was moderated by Tamoa Calzadilla, palabra’s managing editor and publisher.

Zamora outlined key considerations for managing physical, digital, legal, and immigration-related risks as journalists prepare to report on one of the largest media events in history across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The webinar, “Mundial 2026 y Libertad de Prensa: Cobertura Segura, Derechos Legales y Riesgos Periodísticos,” was part of palabra’s “palabra por palabra” training series for journalists.
