Fact Check

Alt News carefully analysed the audio, even slowing it down to 0.75x speed for clarity. It is evident that PM Modi stated, “Today, India is the world’s second largest wheat producer.” He did not mention the word “beef” anywhere in the speech.

For clarity, the video clip is provided below at 0.75x speed.

The full video can be viewed here. The wheat remark can be heard at the 32.35-minute mark.

The Press Information Bureau released a transcript of the PM’s speech. It contains the remark about wheat production. There is no mention of beef.

To sum up, the claim that PM Modi said in Auckland that India was the world’s second largest beef producer is false.
