A photo of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi meeting Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim over breakfast has gone viral, in which Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge can be seen seated in a corner of the room away from the dining table.
Sharing the photo, users slammed the Congress leaders’ apparent hypocrisy in voicing concerns for Dalit rights and then not letting Kharge join them at the table. X user @ocjain4, who peddles Right-wing propaganda and misinformation on a regular basis, shared the image with the same claim. (Archive)

We performed a reverse image search with the viral photo and found that a photo of the breakfast table was shared on September 13 by the official X handle of Congress.

The only difference between this photo and the now-viral image is that Kharge is not present in the photo shared by Congress:
Congress had also shared a video of the day showing the Malaysian PM’s visit. It is clear from the visuals that the Congress president was not present at the meeting.

So, it is clear that the viral photo of Mallikarjun Kharge sitting at a corner away from the dining table where Ibrahim met Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi is a manipulated image. Kharge was not present at the event.
